These Safety Tips and Suggestions are advice meant to help you stay safe online and when meeting people.

No advice can replace your instincts. If something feels off, about anyone at any time, stop.
Trust yourself and know that those kind of feelings happen for a reason. 

Don't use any personally identifying information online. 
Don't use your full name, don't use an email that contains your name, never share your real phone number unless you are very comfortable and sure that is a good idea. You can download a free Google Voice Phone Number or use a calling app such as Talkatone. Don't share your social media unless you are ready. 

It is a smart idea to pick a large or well known city near you, as your location that you share online, instead of the exact area where you live. 

Regarding photos, while it may be tempting to share that super cute pic you also put on all your social media sites...don't.
Use unique pictures that are not on the internet. This way if someone does a reverse image search of your photo(s) it doesn't pop up your full name and all kinds of things about you. 

Always meet in a public place where you are comfortable.
Never go to a home for a first date and situations that may include excessive alcohol, like bars, are not advisable either. Make sure you tell a local friend or family member that you are going to meet someone and share a description and photo of the person you are going to meet. Arrange a time when you will check in with them as well.
